My name is X. I’m a time travelling, space travelling alien from planet X. I’ve come to Earth on a mission to learn about the difference between XX and XY because on my planet we’re all just X. Everyone is the same.
I work at Clonex. Clonex runs things around Planet X, they run everything from the water to the food to the television. My favourite show is of course The X factor, the same X people singing the same X song over and over again, it never gets boring. Apparently, way way back in time, we were once XX and XY like you but something changed, the X-revolution happened and now we are grey and uniform. My partner is an X and my children are both X’s. It’s what we wanted, two X’s and they are lovely. They are just like me, and just like my partner too. They fit in well at school with all the other X’s. Sometimes I wonder if we’ve brought the wrong children home from school, but to be honest I doubt if I could tell if we had, as all the children are X’s.
I’ve been sent here by Clonex to learn about the nature of difference because things have become rather flat on Planet X. The economy is stagnant and innovation is it an all time low. In fact we haven’t had a good invention since the beginning of the X-revolution when difference was banished and we all became X. I don’t want to come across as complaining though I’m very safe being an X and for you Humans difference seems like a lot of hard work. I have no fear of standing out or looking weird. Unlike you I have no fear of thinking or saying the wrong thing, I feel safe and secure knowing that my thoughts are Clonex thoughts and are all pre approved.
My brief, whilst here on your planet is to understand. To get to know what is good about difference, what it’s like to be different and of course to find out about one of the major differences between you all, the XX/XY thing. Answers on a postcard please (my address is X, Planet X and the post code is of course XXX XXX). Or in the comment section below (it might be easier!)
I’m off now to meet an XY who wants to be in XX I’m unsure of how that might happen but I’ll let you know how I get on. If you subscribe I’ll keep you up to date with all my research before I send it back to Planet X.
